most recent update on the evac status

Quote:
The West Bank went into MANDATORY Evac at 8am EST this morning. The East Bank is observing a dusk till dawn curfew tonight

They are cutting off pick-ups for evacuation in NOLA at noon today, they will continue to pick up stragglers until 2 or 3pm. Gustav is a cat 3 right now, they are expecting a cat 4 with gusts at at least 150mph. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO LEAVE officials are saying they may not be able to help you and will not send rescue workers into danger to rescue you.
News is current as of 11:30am EST.

FEMA has made an official announcment that the levees most likley wont hold if they take a direct hit.
Ugh....here we go again......

It's sad to hear that this is going to happen again..

We've already gotten 3000 evac refugees already.

I have recently had a group of Corydoras trilineatus spawn.

Bouys in the gulf are now registering waves up to 46 feet. Thats 4 stories high in case anyone needs perspective.

The Audubon Zoo just outdside New Orleans has been shut down since friday afternoon so they can relocate what they can and secure what they cant.

Anyone found on the streets of the evac areas after dark will be arrested and now they wait. My friend that works at the zoo said downtown New Orleans is a ghost town and the silence is really scary. She said it reminds here of all those post apocalyptic plague movies.
