The government has rejected a proposal to ban the giving of fish as prizes.
| Quote: | | "Our conclusion was that the possible welfare benefits of a total ban were minimal and did not justify ending the great pleasure felt by children and their families when they win a pet as a prize." |
Obviously they are unaware of the suffering these poor fish are subjected to both whilst hanging around to be won and once taken home and poorly housed.
Everyone is of course entitled to the instant gratification of winning a pet _________________ Sue

It is a shame!! I was at a county fair with my niece and nephew recently and they were giving away guppies as prizes. It was so hot out that the water had to be close to 100F in those bags.
I really wanted to make a stink but I had 2 three year olds to keep up with and I didnt get much more of a chance to say anything other then "shame on you!!"
